Since 50’s the sound systems that sprang up downtown Jamaica have been not only the place to spin 45 and dancing but also the most popular and important hub of great innovation for reggae music and Jamaican culture. Today the excitement of 45 era (not CDJ era) has faded into memory but fortunately countless live recordings remain. Many of them were sold as cassette tapes. Give many thanks and great respect to the original owners, who kindly released their treasures. So now, bigop all massive! URFD post vintage sound tape 70’s - early 2K. For all Jamaican reggae music and sound system lovers. Hope uno enjoy! ONE LOVE.

1998 - Jaro vs Caveman (both side)

SOUND: killamanjaro vs Caveman Sound (both side)
DATE: Apr 12. 1998
VENUE: St. Thomas
SELECTOR,MC: killamanjaro / Ricky Trooper
             Caveman Sound / Itermin(?), Military(?)

NOTE:
Caveman's studio located uptown Kingston is not well known to the wider record buying public. This is because his principal business is the "special". Sizzla, Capleton, Yammie Bolo, Luciano and Bushman are all artists who have recorded "special" at Caveman's studio.
Caveman also operates his own sound system, Caveman Sound, the Rastaman sound. Sizzla began his musical career at age 15 as a deejay apprentice on Caveman Sound. So now they show off the tip of the iceberg, buss with exclusive Sizzla, Sizzla & Luciano combination dub, demonstrate the power of cultural sound.
This is one of the most heated clashes of the year thus far.
When Trooper goes up against the selectors of Caveman and the issue of religion with concious tune comes into play!

1980 - Sir Coxsone and Jah Shaka @ Cubies Club JAH SHAKA LIVE CUBIES "MARSHALL" 1980

SOUND: Sir Coxsone and Jah Shaka
VENUE: Cubies Club, Dalston, London
DATE: Dec.27 1980

NOTE:
In London, when Roots dub Sound would regularly clash with a rubadub sound. Two sounds play together with hard hitting dub plates the respect they had for each other. Listen the competition of the bass line, Shaka's Johny Clarke "Jah Give I The Power" against Coxsone's Clive Hilton's "From Creation"(Lee Perry). Maybe Coxsone won the clash but still Shaka's Ra Imru Asher "Marshall" A WICKED!

RIP The King.

2000 - Black Kat vs Mighty Crown (both)

SOUND: Black Kat vs Mighty Crown (both)
VENUE: Q-Club in Queens, NYC
DATE: Jun.19 2000
ARTISTS:
Selector/MC: Black Kat : War Tanker, Pink Panther
Mighty Crown: Masta Simon, Sami-T, Cojie

NOTE:
Black Kat goes up against 1999 World Clash Champions, Mighty Crown. Mighty Crown has proof how deep their dub box are with seemingly unlimited funds to cut new tunes. But Panther is a veteran of NYC and runs from nobody! Panther tries to tackle Crown's new tunes by playing nuff new tunes of his own, but in the end was this change of pace enough to conquer the Japanese? Judge yourself!
